My name is Ben Jackson. I provide a space where you can talk about whatever is on your mind without fear of judgment.
I was born in Dublin and spent most of my life there until 2009, when I moved to Germany. Before that I studied philosophy at Trinity College Dublin and, after graduating, worked in business and the arts before completing five years of psychotherapy training in 2016.

The Therapy Process
01

Initial Contact

Starting therapy can sometimes feel like a daunting step. If so, you can schedule a short phone call with me to clarify any questions you might have. Alternatively, you can book a first session immediately.
02

First Session

The first consultation is a chance to get a sense of what therapy with me might be like. It’s an opportunity for you to share what you’re hoping for from the process, and for us to explore how I may be able to support you. Of course, there’s no obligation to book further sessions unless it feels like a good fit.
03

History

If you would like to continue, it will be important for me to get a fuller picture not just of who you are now, but also of how your life has been up to this point. We would schedule a further two sessions, during which I would take a history. In the same way that a doctor might take a medical history, I would ask you some questions about your life story, and the important relationships and events in your life.
04

Ongoing Support

If you decide that you would like to go ahead with therapy, we will then find a mutually convenient time to meet on a regular basis, either once or twice a week. The sessions offer a space to speak about whatever is on your mind and to address the problems that are troubling you.
N.B. Please note that I don't offer couples therapy or see people suffering from psychosis or from alcohol or drug addictions. I see clients in person in my practice and only offer therapy online in exceptional circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about psychotherapy, session details, and what to expect.
1
What kinds of problems can you help with?
I see a lot of people with depression, anxiety, relationship or family issues, unresolved childhood events, burnout, trauma, grief, anger management issues and stress. In general, I am happy to help anyone who does not have a substance addiction or a tendency to psychosis.
2
How long are the sessions?
The first session as well as all additional sessions are 50 minutes long. I offer a free 10 minute call if you have any questions for me before scheduling the first session.
3
How long does therapy go on for?
This a really difficult question to answer. Generally, this is a long-term type of therapy. If we have been carrying a problem around for most of our lives, it is not realistic to think that we can work through it in a brief amount of time. That said, there are no rules and it will usually become clear to you when enough has been achieved and it is time to end.
4
How often do you see clients?
Therapy needs a regularity, stablility and minimum frequency to be effective so I see people a minimum of once a week, sometimes twice a week.
5
What is the cost for a session?
The fee for the initial consultation and all subsequent sessions is 110 Euro
6
Do you offer therapy in-person or online?
I generally see people in person in my practice in Berlin Kreuzberg. I only offer online psychotherapy sessions in exceptional circumstances.
