Ben Jackson

I was born in Dublin spent almost all my life there until 2009, when I moved to Germany. Before that I studied philosophy at Trinity College Dublin and, after graduating, worked in business and the arts.

My interest in psychotherapy first began during my time at university and I wrote my thesis on an aspect of C.G. Jung’s work. In 2011, I began training in humanistic and integrative counselling and psychotherapy at the Irish Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies (now the Turning Point Institute) in Dublin, graduating in 2016 with a Diploma in Integrative Clinical Psychotherapy. I also hold a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin City University and the European Certificate of Psychotherapy.

I am a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), the Deutscher Dachverband für Psychotherapie (DVP) and the Association of Counselors and Therapists Berlin (ACT). I have been living and working in Berlin since 2009 where I am licensed to practice psychotherapy under the Heilpraktiker Gesetz. These days my practice is primarily informed by psychodynamic (psychoanalytic oriented) ways of working. I have been seeing patients since 2013.

Starting Therapy

Starting therapy can sometimes feel like a daunting step. An initial consultation can help you get a sense of how it might be. This first session is a space for you to explain what it is you would like to get from the process and to see how and if I might be able to help you, without any commitment to continue. If you decide that you would like to go ahead with therapy, we will then find a mutually convenient time to meet going forward.

To arrange an appointment, please call me or send me an email. I do my best to respond to all enquiries within one working day.

N.B. Please note that I don’t offer therapy to people suffering or recovering from an alcohol or drug addiction. I also don’t offer couples therapy.

Fees

If you are interested in arranging an appointment, please call or email me and I will outline my fees for the initial consultation and subsequent sessions.

Please note that my fees are not covered by German public (gesetzlich) health insurance policies. I only accept private paying patients or, in some cases, patients covered by a private health insurance policy from Germany or another country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
